Alpaca,
the fiber of the Gods
In the Peruvian Andes, at 4,500 meters above sea level, a unique fiber is born. With 4 million specimens in Peru, 80% of the world's population, Alpacas resist extreme climatic changes, ranging from -20°C to +20°C in a single day, endowing their fiber with exceptional thermal properties.
This ability to thrive in adverse conditions ensures that Peruvian Alpaca fiber is unsurpassed, comparable only to the luxury of Cashmere, Angora and Mohair.
Each Patapampa garment and accessory represents a masterpiece of comfort, style and versatility, woven in harmony with nature.
There are 2 types of Alpaca: the Huacaya (85% of the global population), with a harmonious structure and voluminous fiber, and the Suri (the remaining 15%), with long, curly and shiny fiber.
Alpacas, masters of color, display 24 natural shades. No other animal on earth has such a fine, resistant and colorful fiber.
Alpacas are environmentally friendly, as they feed only on the tops of plants and grasses, which are easily regrown.
